Huawei is the Chinese company that Congress loves to hate. It is one of the telecom giants of the world, and ranks just behind Samsung and Apple in smartphone shipments. Yet the Huawei logo is rarely seen on American soil.
The company announced the Mate 8 in November for the Chinese market and hopes to make the U.S. debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Huawei is doing just fine without the U.S. market as China and India are fueling its growth. Which begs the questions: Why enter the competitive Android smartphone market here in the U.S.?
