This week insideCTI: 9/5/10 – 9/11/10

Remember that tomorrow is the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Never forget. Gives a special meaning to the project I’m currently working on at a Veterans Affairs facility which I hope will make veterans’ lives a bit easier. Our free nation owes them a lot.

This week was all about unified communications. Scam? And where are the open source alternatives? Microsoft continues to tease us about “14” as we inch toward its vague release date (sometime this year).

Other notable news include:

  • SIP Forum and i3 Forum partner to offer FoIP (that’s fax-over-IP) international test program. Not many people get excited over fax, and I’m not sure if FoIP makes it any more exciting. But faxes are still a big part of business even today. It’s only natural that it gets an “oip” treatment…
  • Pronexus targets developers by offering its IVR development toolkit for free and announcing VBVoice 7. Free is always good!
  • Oh, did you notice the new comment system by Disqus? Try it out and let me know what you think!

Remember to share insideCTI with your coworkers in the office, on Facebook, or Twitter!!!
